What Happened
Cognizant has announced a proposed acquisition of DyFlex Solutions, a Perth-based managed service provider specialising in SAP transformation. The deal, reported by ARN on 22 October 2026, would bring DyFlex's SAP consulting practice into Cognizant's global delivery network.
DyFlex chief executive told ARN in August that the company had achieved significant scale in a short period. "Over the last three years, we've had 300 per cent growth in our employee numbers and 350 per cent growth in revenue," he said. The firm now employs over 300 people, with offices across Australia and New Zealand and a delivery presence in the Philippines.
Cognizant described the rationale in direct terms. "DyFlex brings deep SAP consulting capabilities that are key to reimagining SaaS, modernising clients' business landscapes and driving operational performance," the company said in a statement.
Why It Matters
The proposed deal reflects continued consolidation in Australia's technology services sector, with global firms seeking established local SAP talent. DyFlex's client base spans mining and resources, energy and utilities, manufacturing, logistics, and the public and mid-market sectors, all areas Cognizant has identified as priorities for its ANZ practice.
Cognizant noted that "clients across Australia and New Zealand are seeking practical pathways to modernise core platforms while adopting cloud, data and AI capabilities." The acquisition is framed as a way to meet that demand at greater scale.
Key Details
DyFlex specialises in SAP transformation work including AI-led process advisory, finance, digital supply chain, asset maintenance, human capital management, and data and analytics. Its delivery model relies on proprietary accelerators and reusable assets, which the firm has been extending with AI capabilities.
Cognizant said the combination would help "clients derive greater value from AI across their business," pointing to the pairing of DyFlex's domain knowledge with Cognizant's autonomous enterprise platform and global delivery infrastructure.
DyFlex's leadership framed the outcome as a continuation of existing client relationships. "For DyFlex's clients and the organisations we look forward to working with, it would mean the trusted people they know today, with even more ways to accelerate their transformation ambitions," the company said.
Background and Context
DyFlex was founded in 2011 and built its practice around SAP consulting for industries with complex operational requirements. The firm's growth accelerated over the past three years, driven by what its leadership described as "building relationships with our clients, investing in our great people and developing deep expertise across our core industries and the SAP ecosystem."
New Zealand became a formal market for DyFlex in October 2025, when it acquired Bluetree Solutions, a local SAP partner. That move had already been under way organically. "We were already moving into New Zealand as DyFlex," the company noted, adding that it had "signed a big manufacturing company for ERP [enterprise resource planning], and we had been resourcing that totally out of Australia" before the Bluetree deal formalised the presence.
The acquisition also adds to Cognizant's position in the ANZ SAP market at a time when large enterprises across the region are mid-cycle on cloud and ERP modernisation programmes.
What Comes Next
The transaction remains subject to standard regulatory and completion processes. No financial terms were disclosed in the ARN report. Once complete, DyFlex would operate within Cognizant's broader ANZ and global delivery structure, with the combined entity targeting clients across the sectors where DyFlex has established depth.
