Affiliate Disclosure
Plain-English disclosure of how Mindiam earns affiliate commissions and how we keep editorial picks independent.
Plain-English disclosure
Mindiam earns a commission when readers buy through some of the links on this site, at no additional cost to you. We only recommend tools we'd use ourselves; commissions never determine which tools we cover or how we score them.
Which links earn us a commission?
Affiliate links are marked in two ways:
- The button or link is labelled with text like “Try [tool]” or “Get [tool] here”
- The link uses an
rel="sponsored"attribute, which is the standard machine-readable signal for affiliate links
On every page that contains an affiliate link, we put a one-sentence disclosure at the top, immediately above the first such link. That's in addition to this page.
Programs we're part of
We work with affiliate programs run by AdCreative.ai, Printify, SocialBee, Descript, and others. The list grows. We don't share with you which programs offer higher commissions because we don't let our editors see those rates when scoring a product.
How we keep editorial independent
- Editors don't see commission rates. When a piece is being scored or written, the editor working on it has no access to commission rates. Decisions are made on product merit.
- Inclusion isn't for sale. A vendor running a high-commission affiliate program does not buy them coverage. A vendor with no affiliate program at all can still be Tool of the Week.
- Verdicts can be negative. We've written negative reviews of tools whose affiliate programs we're enrolled in. We will continue to.
- Disclosure is per-page. Every piece with an affiliate link carries a top-of-page disclosure linking back to this page. Readers should never be surprised.
- Two-source check on commercial claims.Pricing, feature, and competitor claims are verified against the vendor's own published material plus one independent source.
What you're paying — and not paying
Buying through an affiliate link costs you the same as buying direct. The vendor pays Mindiam a commission out of their own marketing budget. You don't pay extra; we get a small cut.
Australian regulatory framing
This disclosure is provided to comply with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) rules on commercial disclosure under the Australian Consumer Law, and to honour the spirit of the Australian Press Council's standards on editorial independence. If you believe a piece on Mindiam fails this standard, contact us via the corrections page.
What this disclosure does NOT do
- It does not constitute financial, legal, or tax advice.
- It does not warrant that any tool we recommend is suitable for your particular situation. Your homework is still your homework.
- It does not transfer responsibility for the products themselves. Vendors are responsible for their products.
